Fundraiser

The Gala – 2013 10th Annual Fundraiser
CfAL’s fundraiser planning committee, chaired by Barbara Carroll, is now in the early stages of planning for our 2013 fundraiser that will take place at Anthony’s Ocean View on September 11th.

This will be a 10th anniversary celebration with incredible Silent Auction items.

Please join us and sample over 70 wines from over 20 premium Domestic & Imported Wineries, procured in conjunction with GRAND VIN Fine Wine & Spirits, while you listen to the live smooth jazz sounds of the “Cookie” Thomas Trio.

Ticket donation price is $50.00 prior to the event and $55.00 at the door, which includes Anthony’s scrumptious hot and cold Hors D’oeuvres.

Your donations will be used to  benefit a program that extends learning beyond the classroom, and increases the educational outcomes of public school children, by increasing their parents’ involvement in their education at home.

Through this anniversary fundraiser, more than 40 underserved families will be given computer training and a gently used computer.

2012 Annual Fundraiser
We would like to take a few moments to thank 294 guests who came out to enjoyed CfAL’s Wine 2012 Tasting & Silent Auction Fundraiser at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven.

It was a wonderful evening with great food and superb weather.

Our guests went from table to table eating scrumptious hot and cold Hors D’oeuvres and sampling over 65 wines from over 12 premium Domestic & Imported Wineries, procured in conjunction with Grand Vin Fine Wine & Spirits, while the guests listened to the live smooth sounds of the Richard “Cookie” Thomas Trio.

Ann DeMatteo, a long time veteran reporter from the New Haven Register and now the managing editor of the Middletown Press was the guest speaker. She spoke about the importance of parent involvement in their children’s education, and education in general.

This fundraiser helped disadvantaged parents who have children in New Haven’s public elementary schools by giving them computer training and a refurbished computer, through our Technology Cascade & Training Program. The goal and purpose of the Technology Cascade & Training Program is to significantly increase parents’ involvement in their children’s education at home, extend learning beyond the classroom, and simultaneously help close the “digital divide”.

Thank you to our guests for supporting our work.

Sincerely,
The CfAL Board of Directors
