Adrienne Block

Dr. Adrienne Block has spent the last 22 years in healthcare. She received her undergraduate degree in Pharmacy at The State University of NY at Buffalo and her doctor of philosophy degree in pharmacology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She went on to complete two post-doctoral fellowships; the first, in molecular biology with Stephen Squinto at Louisiana State University and the second, in ocular oxidative damage with Abraham Spector at Columbia University.

Following her post-doctoral fellowships in 1991, Adrienne went to work for Organon Pharmaceuticals in West Orange, NJ running clinical trials on potential anti-depressant drugs. In 1993, she began working for Bayer Pharmaceuticals in West Haven, CT as the head of their Scientific Communications department. In April of 2008, she retired from Bayer when the company relocated North American Pharmaceutical Headquarters to New Jersey. She has also been working with GlyGenix Therapeutics on glycogen storage disease since it was founded in 2006 and she is a founding member of The UCAN Company.

Adrienne has also been involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation since 2003 and a Board member of The Greater New Haven Chapter since 2009.
