Carole Sklar is a retired teacher who has been involved in charity fundraising for the many years, originally in NYC area. She has been on the fundraising committees of Slone-Kettering Hospital, Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, and the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York.
Then she turned her efforts on a more local level, when she began to spent more time in CT by raising money for the Mark Twain Library in Redding, as well as the Redding PTA. She worked 3 years on the committee of the American Cancer Society, "High Hat Ball", held annually.
She has been active and influenced local government on the road safety, dealing with the State Transportation issues, as well giving guidance on the gambling issues in the state.
She has been diligent in seeing that the local school system keep up the modernization of technology and influenced teacher application of technology and how it relates in the classroom by be a member of the Teacher Formulation Plan for grades K-8 beginning in 1994.
She assisted with fundraising for Bread and Roses, a hospice in Georgetown, CT, Carole brought a national chapter (1997) of the National Charity League, a mother/ daughter philanthropic organization to the community that is still active in today. Carole is a member of the Redding Garden Club and works weekly with an organization call Giant Steps, a therapeutic riding program for disabled children in Fairfield, Ct.
